“I had the recall performed to reinforce the upper grille deflector on my truck because there was risk of it flying off at highway speeds. Last week driving down the highway my grille deflector flew off and had the car behind me not swerved, they would have been struck by it. I have an appointment at my dealership tomorrow.”
NHTSA complaint #11736455, filed 2026-05“March 28, 2025: A recall (NHTSA Recall No. : 25V-060) service for the front upper grille deflector was performed. August 7, 2025: The front upper grille deflector flew off my truck while I was driving on the interstate, despite the recent recall service. The failure of a recall repair is particularly alarming and a serious safety hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11679451, filed 2025-08“Front chrome hood deflector detached while driving down the interstate. Had a recall on the deflector, recall was performed and the chrome deflector still detached. Tried to get GM to repair and they declined my recall claim. GM stated my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty had expired and they did not have to fix it. This is an extremely hazardous condition and should be covered.”
NHTSA complaint #11734971, filed 2026-04“A large trim piece at the top of my grill flew off while driving 70+ on the highway. I have personally seen roughly 100 testimonies with picture proof on various fb pages of others with the same vehicle experiencing the same thing. This is a known issue for the 2022-2023 model years, GM has apparently corrected the issue for the 24+ model years.”
NHTSA complaint #11615118, filed 2024-09“Tailgate comes unlatched and tailgate came down multiple times in motion and parked. Safety concerns loosing cargo and causing accidents. My vehicle is not included in the recall and dealer cannot help only repair for 146.80. I feel that my vehicle should be included to the already existing recall and reimbursement for repair.”
