“Vehicle radiator has leak at 86k miles. There is known issue w/radiator and thermostat in this truck leading to TSB 15829 . My truck has the same engine/drive-train/cooling system, but the year of the TSB only applies to ld models. Gmc will not cover repair costs. Gmc dealer quoted me $2900 for repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11317144, filed 2020-03, 86,000 miles“While tapping the brakes, the vehicle's headlights will dim. Occasionally, while tapping the brakes, the entire dashboard (including the touchscreen) turn off and restart. On 6/18/18, while travelling on a highway at 40 miles an hour and approaching a red light, I applied the brakes and the entire car shut down, including the power steering, power brakes, and engine. I had to place the car into neutral and turn it back on in order to brake in time.”
NHTSA complaint #11102779, filed 2018-06, 36,500 miles“When driving recently, my check engine light started flashing along with my stabilitrak light coming on. The vehicle started vibrating. The vibrating was especially rough while idle. The vibration was also rough while in lower gears and while braking. When brought in for service I was told it was a corroded ignition coil. This is the second time this has happened. I bought the vehicle new and it currently has about 37,000 miles on it.”
NHTSA complaint #10970437, filed 2017-04, 37,000 miles“While tapping the brakes, the vehicle's headlights will dim occasionally. 2 times now while tapping the brakes, the entire dashboard (including the touchscreen) turn off and restart. The first time was travelling on a highway and the second time was on my driveway, I applied the brakes and the entire car shut down, including the power steering, power brakes, and engine. That time I rolled out of my driveway and into the road. I was lucky no one was coming”
NHTSA complaint #11118614, filed 2018-08, 25 miles“Vehicle will lose power and shut off while driving, while in reverse I have had the steering wheel ripped out of my hands. Random error messages on dic, random starting issues. Taken to shop multiple times, they cannot find an issue.”
