“My nighttime dashboard lights have stopped working on my Honda Accord ex v6. I can no longer see my gauges at night. Doing some searching it appears that the multiplex control unit may have failed. It looks like Honda has recalled this on 2000 Accord lx v6 but not the ex.”

NHTSA complaint #10429144, filed 2011-10, 79,000 miles

“I & my inlaw bought the 2000 Honda Accord ex in the same week (9/1999), after 7 years, the srs light came on at the same time with no incidents occurred. Also in the last couple days, the brake light came on. I called Honda manufacturer, they rejected the problem because only certain vehicle they cover up to 10 years on the opds (occupant position detection system) unit, which failed and caused the srs light came on.”

NHTSA complaint #10212192, filed 2007-12, 86,000 miles

“When car is driven during hot days and you turn the car off, it will not start again tell the car cools off. This happens during the summer months.now that the car is older, it will not start at all during some of the hot days. This include when I start the car for first time that day. Took the car in once years ago and they said they fixed it but I keep having the same problem. They wanted to charge me more money to try to fix it again. Front passage headlights always been foggy. Car also never hugged the road right. Dealership could never find the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10777690, filed 2015-09, 95,000 miles

“The srs airbag light came on at approximately 69,000 mi.the car was taken to dealer and no fault codes were found on the computer. I had the delphi alternator load tested and determined that could be the culprit. During this time, I also had both of my headlamps burned out within weeks of each other. I replaced the alternator with an aftermarket one and have not had any problems since.”

NHTSA complaint #10102104, filed 2004-12, 69,000 miles

“The srs light has come on my 2000 Accord. Now it is past the extended warranty of 10 years. I got suckered into paying $100 to Honda for them to diagnose. They came back and said the opds needs to be replaced and the airbag won't deploy because of the srs light on. They wanted another $300 to replace. I decided not to replace because I am not convinced it won't fail again but now I am driving around knowing my airbags won't deploy. There is an obvious faultiness with the srs and opds and I can't believe that Honda feel a warranty extension is sufficient. …”
