“This is a major issue thousands are having with this model 2014 Sonata. When using the blinker, it causes the headlights to completely shut off while driving. Soon as the blinker turns off it kills the headlights. Extremely dangerous and Hyundai seems to be ignoring this issue and pretending they're not hearing of it often. I've had to pull over many times until the lights come back on. Seems to be an issue in the steering column. Cruise control also decides when it wants to work. Sometimes on startup it works, sometimes it doesn't. I believe it has to do when the car is started. …”
NHTSA complaint #11374085, filed 2020-11, 80,000 miles“I was driving and my car started beeping and the wheel jerked to the left and my car slowed down from 65mph to 20mph and almost caused me to have an accident. After I replaced the breaking module, my battery started shorting out and my car once again jerked off to the side and then slowed down abruptly from 65 mph to 20mph.”
NHTSA complaint #11627965, filed 2024-11“Complete engine failure while driving. Car completely shut off and will not restart. It did not give any warnings prior to happening. Also cruise control stopped working months prior to this engine failure. Took to mechanic and he stated there is recalls on this vehicle and need to turn it in. I have also received mail stating the same about recalls.”
