“On 6 occasions over the last 2 months when coming to a stop the engine will increase rpm to 1600 forcing much extra brake pressure to stop, forcing me to shutoff the engine. No codes or indicators and the dealer can't duplicate. I mentioned to the dealer that the car will accelerate while holding down the brake thinking that as a clue as to what's wrong and the service tech told me that is normal but as far as I know it isn't normal. I don't know what to do.”
NHTSA complaint #11761051, filed 2026-08“While sitting in stopped traffic on the interstate in the dark in the rain on 11/25/2024 my car was in drive; my foot was on the brake. Twice the car rolled away despite my attempts to brake or put the car in Park (I shoved the shifter into Park and the car continued to roll). I rolled into the back of a semi because I could not get my vehicle to stop. This had already been noted as a problem with 2024 Tucsons, yet your search engine tells me there are 0 unrepaired recalls for my car. I want to call this out as an unrepaired recall. I have left it with the Hyundai dealer at the moment. …”
NHTSA complaint #11627731, filed 2024-11“While driving at approximately 70 mph on a highway under normal conditions, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of engine power. A check engine light illuminated at the time of the failure, and the vehicle was unable to maintain normal acceleration or consistent speed. The loss of power created a hazardous situation in active traffic, as the vehicle could not safely maintain speed with surrounding vehicles. …”
