“This Jeep has had problems since I first bought it. I questioned the dealer about these problems as they arose. I was made to feel that all these things are perfectly natural. This Jeep cannot even back up my driveway without squealing, tires and smoking the tires, no matter how slowly I try to go up it. I do not feel safe in this vehicle and would like Jeep chrysler to take this vehicle back. I cannot put into 2000 characters all the problems I have had with this vehicle. I have an 11 year old child and thought I was buying reliable transportation. …”

NHTSA complaint #759506, filed 2002-03

“Contacted chrysler damiler several times, hood paint is chipped under the undercoat on section of 2001 car and chipping off. The service center told me it was due to windshield wiper fluid and that I have to wash my vehicle every day. Asked for this in writing they would not give it to me and I contacted district manager several times he would not respond back. This is a truck and it is merchandised as so in their pamphlets. It says this truck can go in mountains beaches ect. Why do I have to wash this vehicle everyday in order to stop chipping of paint. Could there could be defect. …”
