“Tipm --- the vehicle began having electrical seizures in which the horn, lights, locks, wipers, and washer fluid all began activating at once. I had to pull over after I lost visibility because of the washer fluid covering the windshield. After turning the car off and back on several times over the course of 10 minutes, I finally pulled the battery cable to stop the problem. But as soon as I reconnected it, the problem would start again. …”

NHTSA complaint #10639823, filed 2014-09, 139,073 miles

“My Jeep will randomly squirt wiper fluid, lock and unlock doors, honk horn, turn off and on headlights, etc. All things that are controlled by the electronic system. I never know when it will happen and it differs each time, but I am worried that it is beginning to happen more frequently and will happen when I am on a highway - it has the potential to be dangerous. Due to all of the other complaints I have seen about it from Jeep owners of my year and the recall on previous chrysler's due to the tipm, a recall needs to be issued for these.”

NHTSA complaint #10691143, filed 2015-02, 112,000 miles

“Jeep will start honking horn, wipers on , washer fluid shooting out, door locks won't work. Then it all clears up, there are time when the battery has to be disconnected . But one day while driving to work. All bells and lights went on, wipers on high, horn was stuck on, and then engine just dies! Luckily I had enough speed to get it to the shoulder. Jumped out to pull the horn wire, I was in a residential area at 5 a.m. When all of a sudden engine started back up, with the keys in my pocket! Everything finally stop running and I went on to my job reluctantly. …”

NHTSA complaint #10893904, filed 2016-08, 89,900 miles

“Electrical problem causing starting problems, issues with windshield wipers and no lights on dash or headlights/break lights. At times while driving all lights on dashboard will turn off and windshield wipers go on on their own. The headlights and break lights will also not work. The interior lights and radio will still function. Dealership could not find the problem or solution.”

NHTSA complaint #11219849, filed 2019-06, 10 miles

“While driving or when no one is in the vehicle. The wipers start going, windshield washers start and stop, horn starts blowing, lights start flashing off and on, all dash instruments go off and on and the horn blows intermittently. The door locks engage when the car is sitting with the motor off and no one in the car.”
