“I purchased my Jeep in may of 2005. Since that time the engine light has come on and the o2 sensor replaced three times. The light is on again. I truly feel there has been a malfunction in these sensors, since I talk to other Jeep owners and they have the same issue. Can you fix this under a recall?”

NHTSA complaint #10298366, filed 2010-01, 35,000 miles

“Recently purchased 2005 Jeep grand cherokee. While driving, drivers knee will inadvertently bump the key in the ignition turning off the vehicle and its steering. This has happened 3 times in the past 3 weeks. We cannot be the only consumer having this problem...this is a set-up for a fatality. I see no recall on this...”

NHTSA complaint #10247548, filed 2008-11, 60,422 miles

“2005 Jeep Wrangler (tj in canada). Check gauges light came on while driving on highway. Drove to get off at exit. Car stalled and would not restart. Towed to dealership. Gears on oil pump were stripped and no oil got to engine -as a result engine seized. Apparently there was a service bulletin but it seems that the serial # on my oil pump is not within the range of the bulletin. At 138,000 km I have to replace an engine (outside of warranty).”

NHTSA complaint #10253671, filed 2009-01, 86,000 miles

“This is just a heads up, hopefully from thousands of others also of a pending mass failure of chrysler's 4.0 motors involving loss of oil pressure and the potential accidents caused by motor seizures happening at any speed, anywhere. Chrysler has been dragging their feet on addressing this issue and in my case not even notifying me of a recall(which wouldn't have alleviated the root cause of the problem) despite my VIN having the s indicator in it indicating it being in the range for the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10380357, filed 2011-01, 69,066 miles

“I bought a 2005 se sport Jeep Wrangler about two years ago. In the past few months I have noticed vibrations increasing in the steering wheel and just in the past month the shakings have become extremely violent between 52-60 MPH, causing me to have to pull over and stop on the interstate. I took it to the shop and have had the brake pad replaced, new shocks, new alignment, tires rotated, tires balanced, rotors replaced and the entire front end checked. The shaking is still present and I cannot afford to keep replacing one thing at a time when nothing seems to help. …”
