“I already brought it to the dealer once and they said nothing wrong and nothing recorded. What happened, driving down the road and every warning light came on flashing then stops. The traction control light stayed on. The second time they all lit up when I stopped the Jeep didn't start, everything had power just didn't start and when I took the key out the instrument panel said key still in the ignition. After about 20 minutes the Jeep started and the engine check light was on. Took it in to dealer and they said nothing wrong bring it in when it happens again. …”
NHTSA complaint #10563499, filed 2014-02, 2,660 miles“The cel (check engine light) or mil has been turned three times (DTC code p2099). The dealer has not found the problem, the dealer review the vehicle and all is ok. The dealer changes the PCM (powertrain control module), but the problem continues, the cel (check engine light) light has become a turn.”
NHTSA complaint #10557929, filed 2013-12, 326 miles“The oil cooler/filter housing is leaking oil. This is a common issue on the 2014 Jeep Wrangler as evidenced across ownership forums and websites. The vehicle only has 63,000 miles and is driven on normal city/highway streets. All normal maintenance has been done on time at dealerships. I feel that a recall should be considered for this part due to the volume of repairs and the numerous re-designs that Jeep has performed on the replacement parts. The redesigns signal that Jeep knows there is an inherent design issue that leads to failure.”
NHTSA complaint #11343728, filed 2020-08, 63,000 miles“Oil cooling housing broke and oil sprayed all over the hot engine. The smoke was pretty intense and used a fire extinguisher in case the oil flashed off”
NHTSA complaint #11040595, filed 2017-10, 35,000 miles“The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the fan turned on. The hot oil message was displayed and there was an abnormal beeping sound detected. The contact called the local dealer, who informed her there was no recall or warranty coverage on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 47,000.”
