“The check engine light was on and it said to service the battery charging components. When driving in hybrid mode it doesn’t switch to use the battery. When I was trying to pull off after stopping, the jeep hesitated and would not move and then all of a sudden jerked and took off almost making me crash and people crash into me.”

NHTSA complaint #11770861, filed 2026-10

“There was a prior recall where if there was discoloring or charring of the battery terminal a new battery was suppose to be installed. I reported this and showed the damage, and they just cleaned the terminals and sent me down the road. Now that these are burning houses down I would like to get out of this lease, its almost up anyway.”

NHTSA complaint #11617396, filed 2024-10

“I took my 2022 Jeep Wrangler to my local Jeep dealership for a 21D Fire risk campaign recall inspection and powertrain software update. Car had to be towed to dealership a few days after services were completed, and was diagnosed at dealership, with an offline TCM, throwing a U0101 code. Car was in good working, driving order prior to the recall and software update and is now completely inoperable.”

NHTSA complaint #11759015, filed 2026-08

“I was driving the car normally and it completely shut down while moving. I safely pulled over and I was able to restart it. I then received a text message warning from the vehicle Uconnect system, error was A charge fault has occurred for your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe This seems to be a very common complaint when I googled the error message.”

NHTSA complaint #11512904, filed 2023-03

“I was driving and at a red light the car just stopped working. It was stuck in park and did not want to shift gears. I kept getting a warning message to push the brake and push start but nothing happened. I was stuck in the middle of the road and was put in a dangerous situation. I kept turning the car on and off and eventually 30 minutes later it started.”
