“I purchased my car, used, from Nissan of canton (michigan), on sept. 23, 2016 where there were no disclosures of any safety concerns due to structural or other concerns. On march 15, 2018, the right rear of car made a metal snapping sound and began driving poorly so I took the car to an ase certified mechanic who found the rear frame has rotted out where the torsion arm mounts to the crossmember . …”

NHTSA complaint #11080813, filed 2018-03, 111,200 miles

“My 2010 Murano suddenly developed a loose driver's interior sun visor that has became progressively worse. It will not stay in the up position and will drop down to the point where it blocks my view out the windshield while driving. From discussions at various Nissan online sites, I have found that many other owners have experienced the same problem for one or both visors. Something inside the visor itself breaks and the visor will no longer stay where one sets it. …”

NHTSA complaint #11163513, filed 2018-12, 50,000 miles

“2010 Nissan Murano. While driving on highway, the glass of the sunroof suddenly and spontaneously shattered into bits. It was not hit by any object, as traffic was clear on the highway and there was no overpass in the area. Nissan said they found no manufacturer's defect, and my insurance would not cover it as glass. I paid for repair out of pocket.”

NHTSA complaint #10363977, filed 2010-11, 2,229 miles

“Driving down the highway when the sunroof above the driver exploded sending shards of glass about the cabin of the car and also up into the air. Nothing struck the car and the breakage was accompanied by a loud explosion type sound.”

NHTSA complaint #11114801, filed 2018-07, 113,000 miles

“While driving, the sunroof exploded leaving a round, upward protruding, glass hole larger than a basketball. Sunroof was closed on a mild 82 degree day driving down the highway. Fortunately, the sun shade was closed which blocked shattering glass from hitting us directly while operating at highway speeds. Nissan did acknowledge instances of this nature on other models. An internet search of forums revealed many, many occurrences. This was not an impact crack, break. It was literally an outward explosion!!”
