“Four tires tread separation all same tread wear douglas tire 215/70r14 I have photos available of today's tire and will photograph the remaining two serial numbers and check for the fourth at the wal mart that replaced it. Property damage was negligible but I was prepared for the tire failure I rotated them to the rear due to the belt wearing through the center of the tread.”
NHTSA complaint #10272429, filed 2009-05, 154,000 miles“My mother, brother, and I were on an emergency trip to arkansas in the middle of the night on 09/01/08. We had just gone through kansas city, mo when my brother (who was driving at the time) lost control of my 2000 Plymouth Voyager van and was able to get the van off to the side of the interstate. Luckily, there was not a crash involved. The front driver's side tire was shredded down to nothing. He put on the spare tire and we stayed over night at an ihop restaurant. In the morning, we went to walmart and had the tire replaced for $84.74, and we were able to continue our trip. …”
NHTSA complaint #10248333, filed 2008-11, 33,500 miles“We purchased the vehicle because it only had 21,486 at three years old and they called it certified. When the air conditioning went out they refused to even reimburse us part of it because we did not have the extended warranty. We have the powertrain a this point until 70,000 miles. We have had engine knocking, which our mechanic added an additive to and seemed to go away but now at the end of august seems to be returning. The tires were terrible at what seemed to us to be low mileage. We had sensors that went and caused the transmission to downwshift so our mechanic repaired. …”
