However, due to buffering/retry logic during the network reconnect, the system unexpectedly transmitted a follow-up Close command without any driver input. …”
NHTSA complaint #11754055, filed 2026-07“I am writing to express my deep concern regarding ongoing safety and service issues with my 2024 Tesla Model X. This is the third Tesla vehicle we’ve owned, and while our previous two vehicles performed excellently, this one has presented serious and recurring problems with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. Since the second service visit, we have experienced four separate incidents in which the vehicle has either driven off the road or abruptly slammed on the brakes without warning. …”
NHTSA complaint #11693108, filed 2025-10“Since a 2026 over-the-air software update, every time I disengage Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) while driving, on any road and at any speed, the center touchscreen shows a large pop-up titled Why did you intervene? with four buttons (Navigation, Parking, Critical, Other) and a voice-message option. It covers about a third of the display, including navigation, media controls and, during parking, the camera view. It does not clear on its own while driving; it stays until the driver taps an option or shifts into Park. Photos attached. …”
