“The Tesla “self driving” features are inconsistent, at best, and frequently fail. I can not believe that the government approves these capabilities or the Tesla is accepting liability for road use. If these features are not reliable under supervised conditions, why would they be considered safe for robo taxi release? I have repeatedly tried to report this to Tesla and they say the systems are operating as designed.”

NHTSA complaint #11670031, filed 2025-06

“While reversing my Tesla Model Y, the rear parking sensors failed to alert me to a stationary obstacle (fence). No audible warning or visual alert was triggered. The vehicle had recently received a software update prior to the incident. The failure resulted in collision damage to the rear bumper. I believe this may be a sensor or software defect. I am requesting an investigation into whether recent OTA updates affected rear obstacle detection functionality.”

NHTSA complaint #11736806, filed 2026-05

“The FSD failed when it back into garage; the back of passenger side of the car hit the wall of garage. There is no warning before. Beacuse the distance for parking into the garage is small, there is no time to take over the FSD to avoid it happen. It happen around 23:35 on August 07, 2026. We reported as a safety incident to Tesla an hour ago. We updated the the software on August 02, 2026. The car had been succesful back into the garage more than ten times before.”

NHTSA complaint #11755589, filed 2026-08

“I ordered the car with parking sensor feature standard similar to my daughter car model Y 2022 which she bought a couple of months earlier. Tesla removed the parking sensor without advising me. This sensors are vital for safety of pets, children and obstacles during parking.”

NHTSA complaint #11503890, filed 2023-01

“The screen multiple times has glitches and froze. We weren’t able to use backup camera, turning lanes cameras or clearly see our screen. We couldn’t access any of the icons that allowed us to control any features of the car. It was like driving blind.”
