“I had driven the car for about 15 minutes when the gas pedal seemed to be sucked to the floor. The car suddenly accelerated to 50 and I could barely get it to stop. I had it towed to a repair shop; but they could not find anything wrong. I'm not crazy. This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that this has happened. What is wrong?”

NHTSA complaint #10759865, filed 2015-08, 171,750 miles

“Fuel system: for about the last year and a half, certain mornings my car wouldn\\'t start by simply turning the ignition; I had to try it the \\"old fashioned\\" way and depress the gas pedal several times prior to turning the ignition key. Power window: the driver side power window motor sounds like it is dying; it takes quite a long time for the window to open and close. Other: the driver side interior door handle just broke off in my hand four (4) weeks ago!!! Please bear in mind that this car has less than 29,000 miles and is very well maintained. …”

NHTSA complaint #10070135, filed 2004-01, 28,000 miles

“I have been attempting to resolve the paint issue for since august 1999, Toyota will only repaint part of the vehicle (hood, trunk, deck) and it is impossible to receive satisfaction from the local Toyota (torrance, ca). I know this is not a safety issue, but I wanted to find out if there were any other reports of this problem. Thank you very much.”

NHTSA complaint #731678, filed 2000-09

“Cosco turnabout infant car seat (came with the rock n' roller stroller) model number 01-654 (if the stroller and car seat have the same numbers) does not fit securely in the car seat. In a side impact crash the seat would become dislodged, as it can slide left and right. I have to pin the seat behind the back of the passenger seat to immobalize it. I have even had a police officer look at it and he took notice it didn't seem too safe.”

NHTSA complaint #705042, filed 1999-03

“1996 Toyota Camry. Consumer has a odometer reading concern. The consumer stated in april of 2005 he and his wife were taking a trip and his wife noticed that the odometer was not in sync with the measured mile signs. The consumer discovered that the odometer was reading in kilometers and not miles. The consumer contacted the dealer and the dealer was supposed to find out what happened, but to no avail. The consumer then contacted Toyota of canada and informed them of the odometer issue. …”
