“Having acceleration issues with my 2014 Toyota Camry se.the transmission hesitates and seems to lose power when accelerating. Whether I drive in town or freeway (I only commute 11 miles to work). This is especially problematic and downright scary when making left turns at intersections or changing lanes. I press on the gas and there is a significant delay.”

NHTSA complaint #11020564, filed 2017-08, 45,000 miles

“On 2 occasions, months apart, shortly after starting the car, I had to slam on the brakes to stop the car. The gas did not let up when I took my foot of the gas petal and put it on the brake.”

NHTSA complaint #11386459, filed 2021-01, 40,000 miles

“On 3/5/18, I was parking my 2014 Toyota Camry in a parking lot at my place of employment. I had my foot on the brake and the car was barely moving when suddenly it accelerated over a curb and into a retaining wall.”

NHTSA complaint #11088422, filed 2018-04, 48,000 miles

“On may 25, 2017, while pulling into parking space at a shopping center, my 2014 Toyota Camry accelerated out of control thru the parking space without me pressing the gas pedal. I pressed the brakes and it did not stop the car. My car continued to travel at a high rate of speed thru the parking lot embankment and went thru brushes/shrubs which is where the car stopped after it blew a tire and was stopped by the shrubs. Due to the damage under the car it was a total loss.”

NHTSA complaint #11023417, filed 2017-09, 34,110 miles

“Just about completely stopped at stop sign at end of street - without warning car accelerated extremely fast, crossed 2-lane street - drove into church parking lot on an incline turned and back across the 2-lane street and my vehicle hit neighbor's truck head on. Both cars totalled. Had absolutely no control of steering and brakes did not stop the vehicle. Police took report - my passenger and I told the same sequence of events as well as a neighbor who saw everything that happened. Every single airbag went off.”

NHTSA complaint #11269397, filed 2019-10, 52,000 miles
