“I have been experiencing a lot of highway wanders and I have replaced tires and had three or more alignments done since january of this year. It feels as if the wild is blowing a hundred miles an hour around me and pushes my car all over the freeway. I feel it getting worse as well. I'm not sure what else to do or who to contact. I really need to get this fixed asap and we have tried many things.”
NHTSA complaint #11115707, filed 2018-08, 150,000 miles“The car's steering got out of control. The car was stopped at red light and I tried to turn left at green light. It suddenly turned left sharply and went over the opposite lane. While I tried to steer the car straight without applying either gas or break, the car swung to right. It came back to control a moment later.”
NHTSA complaint #10583209, filed 2014-04, 118,400 miles“At around 50 miles on up the car starts to wander all over the road . It does not matter if you have 1 or 2 hands on the wheel . The car just drifts from side to side. I am an ase certified mechanic and I cant understand why there is no saftey recall involving such a serious condition. Toyota is asking for a lot of trouble if they cant find a fix for this issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10443146, filed 2012-01, 8,584 miles“I noticed a problem with the steering on my Corolla. The car had 12,116 miles on it when I brought it in to the dealer. The problem I experienced was that it seemed that I had to wrestle with the wheel to keep the car from drifting side to side. It had not happened during the first 12,000 miles. The dealer said there was nothing wrong with the steering.”
NHTSA complaint #10313120, filed 2010-02, 12,116 miles“I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla( pre owned). Since day one I noticed that the steering felt loose. It feels like the wind is blowing the car around and it is difficult to keep it going straight. I need to constantly keep both hands on the wheel. This car has all 4 brand new tires and dealership balanced the tires as well. When searched on Toyota site there is no recall information. Pls help.”
