Example complaints

Brakes: “I have a 1995 Winnebago class a motorhome with a p-30 chassis. I stopped to gas up and my auto park brake system locked up. I had to disable the system by disconnecting the cable to auto brake system. If this would have happened while on the highway it could have been fatal . I was in the mountains of missouri. Gm should make a recall on this problem because it is a very dangerous situation if it would have locked up on the highway.”

NHTSA complaint #10045554, filed 2003-11, 51,350 miles

Electrical system: “1995 34ft Winnebago with a chevy / workhorse chassis. The auto brake has failed several times and has locked the brake at highway speed locked up in driveway now the system is disconnected and their seems to be very little help on a fix. Without taking the vehicle in and letting somebody replace parts until it is fixed. This seems to be a pretty common problem on these rigs and not having a parking pin or brake seem like a dangerous situation. I see where people just disconnect the auto park system and rely on the emrg. Brake. …”

NHTSA complaint #10323838, filed 2010-04, 64,000 miles

Steering: “The contact owns a 1995 Winnebago Adventurer. While driving at approximately 35 MPH, the gauges failed to function and the lights on the instrument panel failed to illuminate. In addition, the power steering failed and the brakes failed to respond. The brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. As a result the parking brake was engaged in order to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuses, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. …”
