Example complaints

Brakes: “Previous recall from workhorse custom chassis was for the brake calipers hanging up after a prolonged storage of the motor home (rv). This recall repair was done in a timely manner. I had to put my motor home in for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. A wheel seal had to be replaced. Upon inspection of the wheel seal problem, the authorized Winnebago dealership's service department discovered that the new brake calipers had stuck again, thus overheating the brake pads and brake rotors. The rotors are glazed and have heat stress cracks.”

NHTSA complaint #10605445, filed 2014-06, 30,845 miles

Exterior lighting: “I was returning from w. Palm beach in my 2002 Winnebago, when the right rear quarter panel with tail lights fell off somewhere in ohio. I discovered this only when I got back to my office at orrville, ohio. My Winnebago has less than 10000 mile on it. I checked with the Winnebago company and they knew of no recall, nor would they warrant the repairs since their warranty is for one year regardless of mileage. I thought this was unfair. My inspection revealed that only 2 small bolts held the unit together. …”

NHTSA complaint #10118482, filed 2005-04, 9,550 miles

Electrical system: “The contact owns a 2002 Winnebago Adventurer. While driving 35 MPH, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard when it was depressed and the stopping distance increased. The dealer stated that the front driver side caliper failed to release, which caused the brakes to overheat. They replaced the wheel sensor, caliper, and brake pads. Approximately two weeks later, the rear passenger side caliper failed and was replaced by the dealer. The failure mileage was 46,000 and current mileage was 52,000. The dealer stated found that engine wiring harness is rubbing A/C comp. Updated 09/28/07”

NHTSA complaint #10202367, filed 2007-09, 46,000 miles

Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors): “The contact owns a 2002 Winnebago Adventurer. The contact stated that the front dual pane windows abnormally fog, which significantly reduces her visibility. She is in the process of taking the vehicle to the dealer to determine the cause of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 38,000. Updated 6/22/09 updated 06/25/09.”
