NHTSA complaint #10672320, filed 2015-01, 60 miles

“The catalytic converter had strong sulfur smell after the first year. I complained to chevy dealer and was told there was no problem. By year three I complained for the third time again was told no problem the computer didn't show a code. I asked the mechanic to take it for a drive he returned saying the cat was junk it was replaced and I was told only to run top tier gas I did that but after about 8 months it smelled again my truck is just five years old and I need another converter, my power locks have each been replaced three times in second and third year. …”

NHTSA complaint #10547805, filed 2013-10, 28,000 miles

“Vehicle throws code p0128 (coolant temperature sensor). Fans run on high, loses power, check engine light comes on. It happens at random. We replaced sensor with a new GM one...but it did not help. Vehicle still having the same problem and is still throwing the same code.”

NHTSA complaint #10320960, filed 2010-03, 43,488 miles

“My 1500 series truck has chirping noise coming from engine. Currently has 80k miles and noise is not coming from pulley or belts as our mechanic has replaced them and noise still sounds. Noise is coming from engine. Taking vehicle to dealer. This noise is annoying!”

NHTSA complaint #10446628, filed 2012-02

“The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet SILVERADO 1500. While driving 55 MPH, the vehicle spontaneously stalls without warning. The risk of a crash was increased. Typically, the vehicle will restart after a brief waiting period. Speed is not a factor when the failure occurs. The dealer could not duplicate the failure and provide a sufficient remedy. The manufacturer did not assist. The failure mileage was 18,000 and current mileage was 21,000.”
