“I am complaining about the safety of my truck frame. It is completely rusted through in a few spots and I don't know how safe it is to keep driving. This is a combination of poor engineering/ cheap steel from GM's side and the highly corrosive chemicals that are put on the roads in new england from the DOT. Gm has clearly stated that they will not help me with this problem and I am on my own to cover the cost of a new frame or a new vehicle.”

“2008 chevy SILVERADO 1500 fire on 11/20/20 I was driving 3 miles to my friends house and as soon as I pulled up, I smelt fire. I got out to find out that my passenger headlight and everything under the hood was on fire!! I tried to lift the hood but that was too hot to do so, and I ran into my girlfriends house screaming for a fire extinguisher!! As I was running back to remove as much as I could out of the truck her husband came out with the fire extinguisher and she came with the hose. …”

NHTSA complaint #11376427, filed 2020-11, 200,002 miles

“My dash has cracks in many places that started within 6 months after the warranty expired. It continues to get worse. However what concerns me the most is they're three located around the passenger side airbag. How is this not a safety issue? If my airbag inflates the dash could puncture the airbag or pieces can be thrown toward the passenger or even the driver. If you search GM cracked dash you will find endless articles and videos of people with the same issue. …”
