Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Headrest interferes causes my head to be pushed forward limiting my vision of the road. This is distracting during operation of the vehicle causing me to not be able to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. As I complained about this during purchase, the salesperson suggested that the headrest could be turned backwards, as done by other owners. As he tried this two items were apparent, first was no support for my head during a rear end crash, and second there was no position holds for raising or lowering the headrest. …”

NHTSA complaint #10986212, filed 2017-05, 11,190 miles

“Headrests are designed in a manner that your head is constantly pushed forward. This limits the driver being able to look up. It is very distracting to have to keep the seat belt loose in order to lean forward to get your head away from the headrest and look up at the traffic light or read signs on the highway. The remedy suggested by the dealership is to turn the headrest around backward, which leaves no support for your head in case of a rear end collision. Most owners I have talked to have simply removed the headrest to eliminate the problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #11129631, filed 2018-09, 2,000 miles

“Powertrain failed and vehicle would no longer move. Engine would rev up, but truck would not move in any direction, almost like the transmission had gone into neutral. Powered the vehicle off, then back on, and it violently jerked, but was enough for me to get to the shoulder. Afterwards, got the vehicle checked out with a scanner, there were no check engine codes coming up, nor were there any lights on the dash. When they checked the transmission oil, there was a lot of metal flakes, which will require a transmission change. …”

NHTSA complaint #11564472, filed 2024-01

“The front seat shifts around when cornering. The truck shifts constantly. It can never find the correct gear when it needs one. It continues even after they shimmed the front seat and shifting issues happen daily.”
