“When putting vehicle in park, I get a message on dash that says shift to park when the vehicle is already in park. The vehicle electrical components does not turn off. Sometimes if I wiggle/hit or stick my hand under the steering wheel adjustment lever I can get it to turn off. Becoming more troublesome. Through research I see it is a common issue among GM/Chevy vehicles.”

“Was driving east on i40 between Hinton and calumet when my truck through a check engine light and service parking break. I pulled over it smelt like burning wires I cleared the codes with a code reader and turn the truck on the accessory when smoke filled the cab I got out and the truck was in flames.”

NHTSA complaint #11744216, filed 2026-06

“Tailgate randomly opens and closes on its own. It will continue to do so until I start the truck up and then it will start doing it again as soon as I open my drivers side door. Also, the tailgate will no longer open by the button that is on the tailgate. The only way to open the tailgate is to push the button on the remote. And if you do that, the tailgate starts opening and closing again on its own.”

NHTSA complaint #11661843, filed 2025-05

“My key refuses to come out of the ignition caused by a parking sensor is what Chevy told me. I feel it is a safety hazard because I have to leave my truck idling and take the risk of the truck not registering it’s in park and moving on its.”

NHTSA complaint #11723995, filed 2026-03

“when driving radio and display will freeze up. sometimes screen will black out other times screen will just freeze where ever i had it last. when problem happens i am unable to turn radio down or off. back up camera will freeze with no directional lines. I have the advanced trailering package and if this happens i will not be able to see behind trailer. I have had several dealers look at problem and there is several bulletins for most radios but my radio which is a IOR code says there is no fix”
