Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While driving in the clear, with all windows and sun roof closed, without any observed reason, the moon roof exploded in a loud bang/pop. Glass and glass fragments (some not so benign) rained down onto my hair, shirt, and pants, but mostly on the unoccupied rear seats where my children were five minutes ago. I still have the broken moon roof.”

NHTSA complaint #10116225, filed 2005-04, 12,500 miles

“Really was happy with my Pacifica but now I am afraid to drive it! Managed to get through the whole left turn and the car stalls. But now driving down a straight road the whole passenger side window collapsed into the door for not apparent reason. It was on the side my daughter was buckled into her car seat and needless to say scared her to death as rain was soaking her!”

NHTSA complaint #10164467, filed 2006-08, 47,000 miles

“I wanted to bring to your attention a safety condition with certain years on the Chrysler Pacifica. Many of the pacificas engine cradles are severely rusted; to the point of if a break occurs the engine will fall out of the vehicle. This issue is mainly on years 2004-2005. (I own a 2005 model with severe rusted engine cradle.) the estimated cost of this repair is between $2,500 and $3,000. I have contacted Chrysler several times about this safety issue, the 1st time was nov of 2013 with the most recent being 4/1/2014. Chrysler just says ?we?re looking into it?. …”

NHTSA complaint #10576986, filed 2014-04, 110,000 miles

“Body control module failure, lost headlights , wipers, could not close windows, airbag lights came on. If driving at night when module fails you lose all headlights and tail lights. Was driving at the time of failure.”

NHTSA complaint #10981372, filed 2017-04, 86,540 miles

“Traveling at highway speeds the sunroof glass was partially separated from the mounting frame. The glass was vertical in the air stream until the car was moved to the side of the road. The glass was fully removed and taken to a glass repair shop to reattach to the mounting frame.”
