“I took my car in today to have shocks put on and was informed the engine cradle was so severely rusted the rack and pinion was about to drop out of the car along with the motor. I drive on the highway everyday and this would have broke in the next week or so and I would probably be severely injured or worse.”

NHTSA complaint #11360893, filed 2020-09, 247,000 miles

“I have been told that my engine cradle is rusted beyond repair and will need replacing. Chrysler recalled 2004-2005 in rust belt areas to replace engine cradle. This issue affects 2004-2008 which my car is a part of. This rust issue could cause the motor to fall out from the engine cradle and cause serious safety risk”

NHTSA complaint #11170972, filed 2019-01, 136,000 miles

“Today I was told that the engine cradle of my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica with 125214 miles was rusted out and needs to be replaced, will not pass nys inspection. Online I read that Chrysler is only are covering the 2004 and 2005 models. This is a extreme safety problem just like the defects in the 2004 and 2005 that Chrysler needs to cover.”

NHTSA complaint #10692752, filed 2015-03, 125,214 miles

“Went in for an oil change and found out the subframe on the vehicle was rusted out. Took it to my mechanic. After researching I have found many posts on this happening to many people with this make and model. Please check into this issue, it seems that something is not right with this part of the vehicle. The car is in perfect shape no rust or corrosion anywhere else on the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10838085, filed 2016-02, 103,000 miles

“During routine oil change, significant rust-through was discovered on engine cradle. This car has been garaged all its life and only has 51,000 miles. I see through investigation that this problem has been occurring since 2004 and there seems to be no help from Chrysler for the 2006 model year. Well my days of being a Chrysler and dodge man are over!”
