“I leased a new van on 5/10/12. In the summer of 2013 I was informed by independent tire company that my tires were in very bad shape, and I was going to need new ones. I contacted dealership because tires should not have to be replaced after 18,000 miles. I was told to bring vehicle in and they would check it out. Unfortunately, I work full time and was not able to take car in without a loaner vehicle (which they would not provide). When winter hit, the tire issue became very noticeable, as my vehicle has no traction whatsoever. …”

NHTSA complaint #10563157, filed 2014-02, 18,000 miles

“Endure 816 tires say they are rated for snow. I have these tires on my van in a cold weather climate with snow and ice! I have had the van for two weeks and I have already made an appointment to get different tires and it is not because there is no tread left on the endure 816 tires that are on there, it is because this tire is the worst tire in snow and ice. All the tire does is spin on a hill and you will definitely not get up your driveway with just a dusting of snow! When stopping or turning this tire will just slide and is not safe at all. …”

NHTSA complaint #10567420, filed 2014-03

“The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town And Country equipped with kumho solus kh25 tires, size 235-60 r16. The contact stated that the front tires were cracked in the tread. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 25,500. The DOT and VIN was unavailable.”

NHTSA complaint #10558928, filed 2014-01, 25,500 miles

“The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town & country equipped with kumho solus kh25 tires, size 235/60/16 (n/a). The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the TPMS warning light illuminated, indicating that the air pressure for each of the four tires was too low. The contact stated that the TPMS light would illuminate every three days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. After diagnosis, they advised him that they were unable to locate a failure but they would add nitrogen to all four tires. A few days after having the nitrogen added to the tires, the failure recurred. …”
