“Started the car and it was making a sound like an electrical car would. Thought maybe it was just warming up and I was imagining it. Drove to town and it started shifting hard. By the time I tried to go home it wouldn't shift into higher gears, had really high RPM. I got it into a parking lot and it wouldn't drive at all!”

NHTSA complaint #11414364, filed 2021-04, 88,000 miles

“2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, purchased in 2017. Driving on freeway near ohare airport, vehicle didn't want to shift. Would rev as high as 5k RPM just to reach 45mph. Vehicle doesn't want to go into reverse. There was a recall for some of these vans. There needs to be another recall. My vehicle has 121,000 miles on it. I believe the pump has failed, the code is p0868”

NHTSA complaint #11339425, filed 2020-07, 121,000 miles

“The transmission on my Dodge caravan failed. The pump on it failed. There is a recall for this same problem but Dodge says it's VIN specific and mine is not covered. Since they hold all of the info. How do I know they are not lying. The repair cost me $4,700.00. They refuse to pay. This vehicle should be added to the recall list. Dodge recall is htsa 16v46100. Thanks, david j. Arnold”

NHTSA complaint #11372537, filed 2020-11, 70,336 miles

“Our van started to shutter and would sometimes die when we coming to a stop. It then started not shifting right. We were going up mountains and it would not drive. It would not shift right. The transmission completely went out after a year and a half of use. We have kept its oil changed and always had the fluid checked. There was fluid still in it. There was no reason.”

NHTSA complaint #11281942, filed 2019-11, 110,000 miles

“Car loses all power and steering is lost as well. This has happened three times now, we have taken it to the dealership and they cannot find anything wrong with the car or recreate the issue. We have a family of 6 and are worried about driving our car, this is a safety issue that needs to be fixed.”
