“I was in a car accident of dec. 2018 on the 1-10 going west bound. An underage, unlicensed driver hit me going 60-70mph when we were doing stop and go traffic. (I was stopped at the time same with all the cars in front of me. She never tried to stop since she was distracted and hit me twice. The 2nd time she panicked when she hit me so hard her car flew back and she hit the gas again instead of the break. The first time she hit me none of my airbags deployed and my head hit the wheel really hard, 2nd time my seatbelt locked (first time it didn't) and I had a bruise across my chest from it.”
NHTSA complaint #11280862, filed 2019-11, 2,643 miles“Passenger side front seat headrest airbag deployed while driving. The airbag feature deployed while my 13 year old daughter was sitting in the seat. When the safety feature deployed, it hit my child in the back of her head causing pain and injury. This safety feature deployed without warning or cause. The headrest broke when it deployed is now just hanging from the seat.”
NHTSA complaint #11510263, filed 2023-03“I was driving in the vehicle to put gas in, all of the sudden, i heard something snap and felt something hit the back of my head really hard. I felt disoriented as I didn't know what had happened. When I stopped and look at the seat, I noticed that head rest had deployed suddenly without warning and hit the back of my head. There was no accident that should have caused the head rest deployment. I sat there disoriented and started getting a headache and my neck started getting stiff. …”
NHTSA complaint #11674723, filed 2025-07“My passenger side headrest popped open while my car was in park today. Randomly deployed. This is beyond unacceptable that something could just happen like a safety feature deploying when not impact provoked.”
NHTSA complaint #11668726, filed 2025-06“I came out of a meeting and found it this way. There is no evidence of an accident or hit while I was away. Also there is no evidence of anything making impact with the headrest inside the vehicle.”
