“I did not own this vehicle when the recall was produced I have own this car for about 2 years with no problem until about 2 weeks ago I discovered that there is gas leaking from the bracket of the gas tank. Once in park you can either smell a strong odor of gas and you can see where the the gas has been leaking onto the ground”

NHTSA complaint #11258233, filed 2019-09, 233,000 miles

“I was in motion heading to work, as I was approaching a signal light , and tapped the brakes, I started to smell a rubber gas leak smell. This is has been occuring for the last six months ive had the brakes change. Still the smell of burnt tar or gas fumes is loud whenever the brakes, A/C, or heat is on.”

NHTSA complaint #11109752, filed 2018-07, 13,400 miles

“I have a 2008 Ford EDGE with a gas tank leak, the gas tank need to be replaced due to the inside being completely rusted and erosion. There is a recall 14v682000 - however my vehicle is not a part of this recall although it was originally purchased in connecticut, it was built at the oakville assembly plant. I was informed by Ford that it may be included at a later date. That is not helping me when my vehicle is out of service now and has to be fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #11337892, filed 2020-07, 160,000 miles

“We noticed a strong fuel smell in our garage and took our car in for service. We were told the fuel tank had rotted out and was leaking fuel. The entire gas tank needed to be replaced (about $2100). We were told by the mechanic that this wasn't uncommon and would most likely happen again with the new tank. We have since traded the car in for a new vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10641855, filed 2014-10, 92,000 miles

“Fuel is leaking, 1 believe from the fuel tank. The vehicle was in park, but left on for about 30 minutes. When I returned and reversed out the parking spot I noticed a puddle at the back end of the parking spot. I smelled the puddle and it was fuel.”
