“The left rear axle housing due to not enough lubricant. The ford maintenance shop states they can refill the lubricant but it doesn’t last long and will be back in the shop . So I’m having it replaced due to their recommendation which is a $1,835.00 fix. I see there were recalls on 2021 edges but mine wasn’t built in the right time frame apparently and it’s ironic that it is the same exact problem with several 2021 Edges but yet only the ones built in certain months are getting recalled. …”
NHTSA complaint #11764220, filed 2026-09“I'm am the original owner of my 2021 Edge ST and have kept up with all my scheduled maintenance. Earlier this year, I had my transmission fluid replaced per the 40k maintenance schedule. Since then (and even a little prior to) I can feel the transmission, for lack of a better term, jutting and making a very slight whine when I've decelerated but then gone to reapply acceleration. It mainly seems to be a problem with second gear. I have also had the fuel neck replaced twice now under warranty. …”
NHTSA complaint #11680741, filed 2025-08“There was an update to address a recall issue for the rear camera in May 2022, and ever since it was done the front camera has been malfunctioning. This affects parking situations and I am uncertain if it is causing any issues with other safety features. Ford gave me several options to try and “restart” the system but none have worked. It has been months and they have not provided an update to fix this camera and no one at a dealership knows anything about it or how to fix.”
NHTSA complaint #11478551, filed 2022-08“The Ford Dealership has had my vehicle since May 5, 2025 and since then, has been unable to fix Safety Recall 25S28 (APIM Module Reprogramming due to distorted screen). On June 30, 3025, the dealership informed me that Ford has put a stop hold on the recall, with no estimate as to when or whether my vehicle will ever be repaired. On June 19, 2025, I filed a complaint with Ford corporate customer service hotline, to no avail. I have heard nothing back from the corporate Ford customer service team. Truly alarming and frustrating.”
NHTSA complaint #11670377, filed 2025-06“The vehicle was sluggish to reverse as I left my office but after I left it was operating normally to gas station about 3 miles away. I stopped at gas station to fuel up. After, I started car and it would not go back in reverse. When i shifted from park back to reverse, it moved maybe 5 . Was sputtering and clanking. I drove forward maybe 2', while sputtering, jerking, and clanking. I managed to make it home (<3 miles) and on shifting it wanted to stall, and on braking it was sputtering, jerking, and clanking with downshifting. …”
