“Shortly after starting my vehicle and while still in the driveway the audio system blasted static at an unbearable volume. Had I been driving and not parked it was so loud and shocking that it could have caused an accident. I called the dealer but the technician was unable to advise what to do. I had purchased the vehicle just the day prior. There were no warnings or indications prior to the audio blast.”
NHTSA complaint #11546269, filed 2023-09“I got into my car with my wife and turned on my car an heard a loud boom followed by static in the tweeter speakers. It was startling, distracting and dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #11557153, filed 2023-11“When I pressed Start yesterday a loud ear-splitting noise emitted from the sound system. It took my shocked brain a moment to realize it wasn't a security alert. When I realized nothing I did would get it to shut off, I got out of the vehicle. It eventually stopped, and the sound system doesn't work at all now. I have an appt to get this looked at, but I've read that Ford doesn't consider this a safety issue. I can see why, but I care for my elderly mother, and if this had happened with her in the vehicle she would not have come out it unscathed. …”
