Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Truck was parked, turned off, and parked in my driveway. Approximately 3:45am I heard glass break and looked out the window to see the inside of the truck on fire. I ran and grabbed 2 fire extinguishers and a water hose; and I put the fire out. The truck is totalled now. Ford asked me to tow it into the nearest Ford dealer (which I paid for) asap so they could inspect it since my truck recall was not yet fixed per Ford's system. The dealership just said it's not Ford's fault even though the fire happened the same way numerous other recall fires occurred. …”

“The passenger seat suddenly reclined and will not lock into place. The local dealer stated there is no recall for this despite (96e010000). I have expressed concerns with them in case the driver seat has the same malfunction and they still refuse to acknowledge that Ford should take responsibility for this.”

I have a 1995 Ford f150 pickup truck extended cab made at the kansas city plant. The recall descriptions of this defect fit this truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10071495, filed 2004-04, 41,000 miles

“The contact stated while sitting in the vehicle the driver's seat fell back. There is a NHTSA recall, # 96e010000, regarding the seat bolt. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. Updated 3/3/2006 - the seat back retaining bolt sheared in half and caused the seat to unexpectedly collapse.”
