“My 2006 Ford f 150 has 125,000 miles. I went to put my truck in reverse to back up out of my driveway and it made a noise. Apparently revers band in the transmission went. I no longer can put my vehicle in reverse to back up. Very frustrated because the vehicle is very well maintained and it broke for no reason.”

NHTSA complaint #11377460, filed 2020-12, 125,000 miles

“The mechanic said I need to replace my transmission, it is an automatic 4.6l motor and does not get 4rd or 4th gear. My vehicle was in motion and when it reached 40mph it would not go I had to switch to 2nd gear.”

NHTSA complaint #11081010, filed 2018-03, 2 miles

“I had to replace all of the gears and the inside and outside bearings and seals in the rear end - on a truck that had 87,000 miles. Every dealership I've spoken to has talked about the cheap bearings in the front and rear end on these Ford F-150's. 18,000 miles ago I had to fix the front end.”

NHTSA complaint #10446310, filed 2012-02, 87,000 miles

“Last year my brakes failed on my Ford F-150 2006, fortunately I was close by the dealership I purchased the vehicle from. Last month my daughter was driving my truck and the rear wheels locked up on the same truck, almost causing her to go over a bridge, the rail stopped her. I just want to know if any others have had this same experience.”

NHTSA complaint #10286540, filed 2009-10, 36,139 miles

“My 2006 Ford f150 has the positraction rear end. Its went out around 25000 to 30000 miles, while the truck was still under warranty and the dealer fixed it no charge. Now the truck has a little over 62000 miles and the rear end has gone out again. Almost exactly the same amount of miles on the rear end. Warranty was up at 60000 miles so its no longer covered. I think this should be looked into as a recall because this is the second time its happened on the same truck.”

NHTSA complaint #10493731, filed 2013-01, 60,000 miles
