“The warning light came on for the throttle control/powertrain malfunction. The vehicle jerks forward as soon as I take my foot off the brake. If I put it in reverse, the vehicle jerks backward without me hitting the gas. The vehicle was just turning into a parking garage when this occurred.”
NHTSA complaint #11119859, filed 2018-08, 70,810 miles“I was driving at about 65 MPH and the wrench light came on and the car would not accelerate at all if I slowed down. When I slowed down to take a turn the car would still not accelerate. I took it to a Ford dealership which I have an extended warranty on and they indicate it is not included since the part is considered an emissions control part.”
NHTSA complaint #10607568, filed 2014-07, 84,500 miles“Sudden power steering shutoff. I was driving out of my parking lot when the steering wheel got very stiff I couldn't turn the car and I almost hit the car next to me. I tried turning the car on and off to clear the error since there is not apparent cause to the issue. According to my research, there is a recall for this problem for many Ford models but the 2010 fusions aren't included.”
NHTSA complaint #10885511, filed 2016-07, 101,000 miles“I was driving at about 30 MPH when a yellow wrench light icon came on. The car stopped accelerating, and it seemed like only the electrical power from the battery was keeping it going. I had just exited a busy freeway where people were going 65 MPH and higher, and if I had not just happened to exit I fear I would have had an accident.”
NHTSA complaint #10622328, filed 2014-08, 75,000 miles“While driving my car enter the limp home program. Researched and called Ford direct and was told that because my car is a hyrbid model that it is not covered under their customer service satisfaction even though it is under mileage and the years for Ford to cover this malfunction.”
