“While taking a freeway exit ramp, an alert popped up on my dashboard and my steering immediately became labored. I wasn't doing anything unusual at the time, so my immediate assumption was that I had a flat tire. I began to slow as I neared the exit ramp, and at this point my dashboard showed a power steering assist fault error and a service advancetrac error message, which resulted in the loss of all power steering. …”

NHTSA complaint #10521453, filed 2013-06, 20,159 miles

“I was driving in the fast lane and my 2011 Fusion went into limp mode by the grace of god I was able to get across the freeway and down the off ramp to a safe place. I was unaware of what limp mode was at the time so I had it towed to the dealer and within a few hours I was notified that it needed a new throttle body. I had just got my car back it had been in at the dealer getting the entire AC system replaced and now this. The worst part is I was informed that the throttle body is on back order and it'll hopefully be in sometime next month. …”

NHTSA complaint #10545250, filed 2013-09, 29,000 miles

“I was leaving school and put my car in reverse, a chime came on and a message was shown saying power steering assist fault. I put it back in park and turned it off and back on again and drove straight home. This just happened and by reading the comments I am terrified to drive my car anymore, even to the shop. I do not make enough money to pay for the maintenance. This is definitely a safety hazard and needs to be addressed right away. This sounds to me like it needs to be a recall!!! If it happens while I'm driving I could be liable to hit something or someone else and my car be damaged. …”

NHTSA complaint #10672874, filed 2015-01

“This car was purchased on june 27,2011. On december 3, the on board navigation system was used for the first time. If I was aware of the road interstate 84 that I was traveling, if I had not know interstate 84 the on board system would have had me make a turn where there was none. After a return to the dealer, a call to Ford and a call to the manufacture of the system that Ford is installing all three insist it is up to date. This defect is going to lead to fatality if someone does follow the on board navigation system. The system also could not find the address of my destination. …”
