“While driving at normal speeds. Car completely stopped working. Dashboard flashed to get to safe area. I could not shift the car neutral. Steering became stiff. The lights and infotainment was still on but the car had no power to accelerate. Had this been on the highway I would have been in a collision since my car went to the right very quick. Once car was stopped could not shift to neutral.”
NHTSA complaint #11743262, filed 2026-06“I have a 2022 ford maverick pickup truck and have a vibration in steeling wheel at acceleration so I took it to a very reapable tire ,brake and suspension dealer who checked the brakes, tires, balance, steering joints etc and found nothing wrong and said he had no clue what it could be and no Ford Recall issued but web sites show other customers with same problem and dealers are not wanting to completely check out because of no Recall please help us!!!”
NHTSA complaint #11664704, filed 2025-06“My truck shakes like a bad washing machine with an uneven load at 50mph+ only while accelerating. While turning it squeals. I have a hybrid and have not done any off-roading. All my miles are from highway or city driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11662718, filed 2025-05“While driving in local traffic, my vehicle completely shut down. All power was lost. The engine shut off, shift control was disabled and the power steering did not work. Several warning lights were displayed including a shift to neutral warning, which was disabled. I was unable to restart the vehicle. After sitting for 10 minutes, the vehicle was started and resumed normal operations. This has happened on more than one occasion. The local dealership has kept the vehicle and cannot duplicate the failure or determine the cause. …”
NHTSA complaint #11694533, filed 2025-10“On 5/20/2024 - At 39,254 miles, both my CV axles lost stability, and were replaced. Less than a year later on 3/3/2025 - At 59780 miles both the CV axles started wobbling and were replaced. In doing a little research online, found many Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles were having the same issue from poor quality parts. I would request for the NHTSA to take this issue up with Ford and address it as a recall on the poor-quality parts or have an extended warranty provision from Ford on them, as the warranty on these axles expires at 60,000 miles.”
