NHTSA complaint #11671874, filed 2025-07“Vehicle failed to start due to a faulty wiring harness connecting the 12v battery to a component of the engine. This left me stranded with no warning, and I was unable to jump the vehicle through normal means. This is a known issue with the 2022 Ford Mavericks, as demonstrated by Ford's TSB 22-2340, and according to Ford, does not fall under their hybrid warranty.”
NHTSA complaint #11654138, filed 2025-04“While driving at normal speeds. Car completely stopped working. Dashboard flashed to get to safe area. I could not shift the car neutral. Steering became stiff. The lights and infotainment was still on but the car had no power to accelerate. Had this been on the highway I would have been in a collision since my car went to the right very quick. Once car was stopped could not shift to neutral.”
NHTSA complaint #11743262, filed 2026-06“On 6-1-22, our truck died in the driveway - it wouldn’t lock with the key fob. Ford assistance was called for a tow. Tow truck driver jumped our truck to load it onto the tow truck. Dealership it was towed to confirmed the battery wiring harness issue. We’re still waiting for the part to arrive but we did get a loaner vehicle yesterday (6-23-22).”
NHTSA complaint #11470803, filed 2022-06“The dealer said a hybrid part that transfers power failed. I was starting from a stoplight at a busy intersection and lost power and a warning popped up saying to turn my engine off immediately, luckily I was able to coast into a gas station. If I was on the highway it could have been catastrophic.”
