“The A/C started blowing warm air. I was told the compressor, and probably more specifically the clutch on the compressor, has failed. This seems like way too new of a car with low miles for the A/C to be failing leaving me with a $1800 bill. Also, others seem to be having the same issue and are referencing a service bulletin # 12-072, which is not listed by Honda or the NHTSA- so not sure, but seems like a common issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10532161, filed 2013-07, 76,000 miles

“Rear differential noise when backing and turning, could escalate to a dangerous handling of the car. Second time that I have to take my Honda CR-V 2007 to the dealer for the same reason.”

NHTSA complaint #10363822, filed 2010-11, 8,000 miles

“Engine and vsa warning lights came on for our 2007 Honda CR-V. Honda dealer said it was our timing chain and that this was a typical problem with cars over 100,000 miles. Honda supposedly had solved this problem with their belts by going to the chain. Our car had 98,000 miles on it. The cost to fix this was $1,600.00! Driving the CR-V right after this problem was fixed the TPMS alarm came on. Now we have to pay even more to have this fixed and due to high repair costs cannot get fixed right away, so left driving without this safety system. …”

NHTSA complaint #10416972, filed 2011-08, 98,000 miles

“While driving on the interstate highway, my A/C stopped blowing cold air. Took it to Honda dealership and firestone autocare. I was told the compressor has busted. The total repair was quoted at us$1300. This seems to be a common problem for Honda crvs and I am surprise that there has been no recalls yet. It is very disappointing and disgusting that in the time of the economy we are forced to bear the cost of a manufacturing defect. Honda seems to give you a run around excuse. I live in chicago where 9 months out of 12 months you do not need an A/C. …”

NHTSA complaint #10416265, filed 2011-07, 49,500 miles

“I purchased a 2007 Honda crv in sept 2011 and recently the car failed and began to lose power randomly. A few days ago the engine light came on and the vsa light as well. When you hit 20 MPH 40 MPH etc the vehicle stalls and jerks. I attempted to fix the problem looking at the owners manual but I couldn't find or do anything on my own to fix it. I took it to the Honda dealer in orlando where I purchased it from and they want to charge me just to check it. I feel this is a safety issue. I've also noticed many postings about this malfunction on different web sites. …”
