“I have a 2018 Honda crv ex. The check engine light came on with the emissions system problem warning at times, and at other times, all warning lights came on simultaneously. At times it drives fine while one or all these lights are on, but twice when I was driving 30-40 MPH, I have lost power, having to pull off to the side of the road.”

NHTSA complaint #11386051, filed 2021-01, 63,000 miles

“A known common issues that Honda are not addressing: car going limp randomly, oil dilution, head gasket failure causing fuel injector issues, dashboard lighting up which causes the safety features to also cease from operating. I have multiple times now with my 4 year old in the car been in traffic and my car has just stopped going unprovoked. This limp mode issue a huge safety issue and has almost caused me to wreck multiple times. This started around 70k miles.”

NHTSA complaint #11735679, filed 2026-05, 124,358 miles

“Driving in the highway engine light came on. After a few mintues all the warning lights came on and the engine started to slowing down. Got towed and the dealership told me I have a multiple misfire and the engine oil is over the recommended oil in the dipstick, and it smells mixed with fuel. They just change the oil and didnt fix the software”

NHTSA complaint #11174365, filed 2019-02, 9,000 miles

“Very strong smell of gasoline inside the car and standing beside the car on the drivers side after refueling at gas station. I did not see any spilled gas or any leaks. Smell got worse inside the car on the 3 mile drive home and was very strong when I pulled into the garage. I checked again about an hour later and the smell had decreased about 50%.”

NHTSA complaint #11097090, filed 2018-05, 1,200 miles

“At approximately 5000 miles I changed the oil in our 2018 CR-V (for the first time) and realized there was approximately 1.5 quarts too much oil (it wasn't all oil, gasoline had diluted the oil). We have an appointment today at the Honda dealer in grand island, ne to have them 'install updated injector software and something concerning the A/C regulator (they said).”
