“I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding a serious potential design vulnerability involving the front radar sensor on my 2026 Honda CR\-V EX\. My vehicle is only four months old, and the front radar sensor and Honda emblem were recently stolen\. This resulted in numerous dashboard warnings and disabled important collision\-avoidance and driver\-assistance features\. It is unacceptable that such a critical safety component appears to be easily accessible and removable, leaving drivers without essential safety technology\. …”
NHTSA complaint #11773197, filed 2026-10“Honda emblem & sensor stollen very easily from vehicle, took the thief seconds to take off. All features disabled! Something this important & vital to the vehicle should not be that easily accessible to a thief! In researching, this issue has been reported on models in previous years! This is an extreme safety issue & should have been fixed & rectified with the new 2026 models. Will be reporting to all outlets!”

Additionally, the contact stated that the rearview camera image was black due to the failure. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60-65 MPH, the contact heard a male voice coming from the infotainment system. …”

NHTSA complaint #11773241, filed 2026-10“I am writing to formally request that Honda investigate and acknowledge a significant security and safety concern regarding the front radar module used on certain Honda vehicles equipped with Honda Sensing. The front radar module appears to be easily accessible from the front of the vehicle and can reportedly be removed by a thief in a matter of seconds without requiring specialized tools. Because of its location and lack of adequate theft protection, it has become an attractive target for theft. The theft of this component is more than a financial inconvenience. …”
