“I started the car, put it in reverse, and started backing out of the driveway (car was moving fine). When I went to turn the wheel, it was locked. I could not steer. I hit the brakes, tried the wheel more (wouldn't move), so I put the car in park. Still couldn't move the wheel, so I turned the car off and started it again. The wheel worked / moved fine after that.”

NHTSA complaint #11757867, filed 2026-08

“The steering wheel becomes very stiff and difficult to turn when I am making turns or changing lanes at speeds above 40 mph. I have to use significant force to move the steering wheel, creating a serious safety risk—particularly when driving on the freeway. This issue has occurred multiple times and is becoming progressively worse.”

NHTSA complaint #11771497, filed 2026-10

“the steering starts to get tight and sticky especially on the highways. I took the car to dealership I bought jt from yesterday (Oct 19, 2026). they kept the car for whole day and on my continuous follow ups, they returned it back in evening saying nothing is wrong and that bring the car back if engine light is on. the guy also said that car is designed to get steering tightened as it picks up the speed.”

NHTSA complaint #11772564, filed 2026-10

“I've owned my car less than 4 months and it's acted up twice! I turn on the car and it refused to move. A steering wheel icon with an exclamation point displays on the dash. It just remains idle and it will NOT drive. It's a brand new 2026 and it's November 2025. It's extremely frustrating.”

NHTSA complaint #11700903, filed 2025-11

“It’s been just 4 months I bought honda crv hybrid 2026 and just 1800 miles , I have a sticky steering . 1 months ago I had same problem and nearly had accident in highway. I went to honda service they changed whole rack but after a months it’s started again. Whenever I don’t use brake hold button it’s works well but if I use and even after disengage of brake hold button steering so heavy and sticky and because of that today also I had near accident .”
