“While driving the vehicle, the engine just shut off and all warning lights were displayed. Luckily I was not in heavy traffic or on highway. Had to wait about 30-45 seconds before it would restart. This has happened 3 times in the last month ( april). Is there a recall for this. I've looked into this problem and there are several complaints of this same issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11323957, filed 2020-05, 51,000 miles“My Jeep has about 26,000 miles on it, since I've purchased this vehicle brand new off the lot, it has been towed 6 times for engine failure. My engine is burning the oil, with out warning while driving, the car shuts off. The dealer insists this is normal, but it is not normal for a car to absorb or burn oil.”
NHTSA complaint #11330789, filed 2020-06, 25,500 miles“While driving car will come up with a message of service shifter on the dash and all shifter lights are lit up red. I have taken to the dealership multiple times and since it is not on when I arrive (once you turn the car off and back on it usually goes away) and since it is not throwing a code there is nothing they can do even though I take pictures every time it happens.”
NHTSA complaint #11280917, filed 2019-11, 35,000 miles“My Jeep will intermittently come up with a 'service shifter' error message. My car does not act abnormal otherwise but with reading a lot of the complaints I saw that most people are filing complaints with you to have a recall on the issue. This error messages occurs while I'm driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11395280, filed 2021-02, 56,000 miles“Car stalls going down road come to find out was down almost 2 quarts of oil. Took vehicle to dealer and service adviser informed me that it will burn a quart every 2000 miles or so and I will just have to keep adding oil. Jeep knows about this and its common for this type of engine, nothing they can do car barely has 14000 miles”
