“My car has cut off twice. Took car to firestone they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Had an oil change since I was there. Called a chrysler dealer while waiting just to find out other people with my car have had the same issue with an oil consumption issue. Car cutting off. Then able to restart. Alert ding going off but nothing would light up.”
NHTSA complaint #11329508, filed 2020-06, 154,000 miles“Car loses power in the first 3-7 minutes of driving. I am starting my car, pulling off, and the car loses power, says something putting the car in parking gear. It has stopped in the middle of the street. This is dangerous. It has happened multiple times. It only happens when I first start the car in the morning. It does not happen teh rest of the day.”
NHTSA complaint #11310524, filed 2020-02, 80,000 miles“While driving the car will shut off completely, locking the steering wheel and rendering the brakes and the gas ineffective... The first time I was driving 65mph on the freeway and it shut off. Luckily there was no one on the road, I was able to coast to a stop, shift to park, and restart the engine... It proceeded to happen multiple times, no matter how fast I was driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11300868, filed 2020-01, 88,125 miles“In the last 3 weeks I start my 2015 Jeep Cherokee as usual, shortly after driving when trying to accelerate from a stop the battery light comes on and the dash says cannot switch gears unless in park. The car then stalls and I have to shift into park and restart ,the scary issue is that I am sometimes stuck and cant move until I can restart the vehicle. There is only 57,000 miles on this vehicle .”
NHTSA complaint #11398442, filed 2021-03, 57,000 miles“As I am driving my car stahl's and everything shuts off. This typically happens as I am making a turn. This typically happens as I get closer to the date of my next oil change. The car shuts off completely and I must coast to a stop. After waiting about a minute I can restart the engine. This is a very dangerous situation as I am typically turning to cross traffic.”
