“While driving the car will shut off completely, locking the steering wheel and rendering the brakes and the gas ineffective... The first time I was driving 65mph on the freeway and it shut off. Luckily there was no one on the road, I was able to coast to a stop, shift to park, and restart the engine... It proceeded to happen multiple times, no matter how fast I was driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11300868, filed 2020-01, 88,125 miles“The car has trouble going when it's stopped and I press the gas. It is as if it's thinking and then once it starts moving, it shifts really hard. It's also shifts really hard when while just driving, feels like someone hit me from behind. Also the service shifter light would go on so I replaced the shifter bezel with wires twice and now the service shift light is back on again.”
NHTSA complaint #11361236, filed 2020-09, 1 miles“In the last 3 weeks I start my 2015 Jeep Cherokee as usual, shortly after driving when trying to accelerate from a stop the battery light comes on and the dash says cannot switch gears unless in park. The car then stalls and I have to shift into park and restart ,the scary issue is that I am sometimes stuck and cant move until I can restart the vehicle. There is only 57,000 miles on this vehicle .”
