“I bought this Jeep with 8 miles on it. At about 5,500 miles while driving straight the steering seems to almost have a dead spot where it feels like there is loss of control to the vehicle. This happens repeatedly causing possible over correct trying to determine if you have control of the vehicle or not. Dealer has been called and awaiting to hear back. My first ever Jeep purchase.”

NHTSA complaint #11302400, filed 2020-01, 5,500 miles

“Over the last four weeks the steering has developed a 'dead zone'. The steering will jerk when pulled out of this 'dead zone'. I took the vehicle into firestone for an alignment to see if it would correct the issue. The technicians confirmed with me that there is an issue with the installation of the cradle of the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11278515, filed 2019-11, 6,300 miles

“Steering will get very tight when going above 60 MPH. It feels as if the power steering has been shut off. I have also noticed that it locks and if you move the steering wheel a little bit it clicks. To go along with this I feel as if I am always driving on a very windy day when going 60 MPH or higher.”

NHTSA complaint #11165682, filed 2019-01, 4,200 miles

“While driving my Jeep its completely stalled out loosing power steering and electrical , had to manually get it to the side of the road. A previous recall ua9 has been issued for this problem but my VIN doesn't match even though it did the same thing.”

NHTSA complaint #11316615, filed 2020-03, 3,700 miles

“Driving the Jeep on the nj turnpike the steering wheel went slack. My wife reacted by jerking the steering wheel which caused the vehicle to swerve into the adjacent lane nearly missing another vehicle and the guard rail. The Jeep was going 66 MPH (the speed limit is 70mph there). I've taken the vehicle to the dealership we leased it from 3 times and they say they won't or can't repair it because when they test drove it the problem didn't occur. It is an intermittent, serious problem. …”
