“On sept. 2, 2019 while driving on route 23 our 2004 Jeep Liberty's gas tank broke off and we dragged it down the road with gas pouring out, another driver alerted us that the gas tank was dragging. If a spark happened we would have been set on fire. The police and fire department were called and our car was towed to a repair shop. I saw a recall #18v278000 online today 09/05/19, we were never notified of this recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11253509, filed 2019-09, 140,000 miles

“My jeeps airbag failed after vehicle crashed into a bush and rolled 60-80 feet down an embankment after hitting an animal on an icy road.. My concern is that I was not notified by my dealer (taylor & sons, ponderay idaho) or by chrysler regarding any safety recalls until after the crash. I found out about recalls after my insurance agent gave me a list of recalls recently .”

NHTSA complaint #10565657, filed 2014-02, 81,000 miles

“I was sold a vehicle with a known safety defect, ie the fuel tank and filler neck. I have been notified of the recall, but am told there are no parts available for repairs. I believe that this vehicle should not have been sold to me and I believe that Jeep / chrysler should be doing a buy back / voucher to get these vehicles out of service reducing the potential for injury and death.”

NHTSA complaint #10567920, filed 2014-03, 99,375 miles

“Received a recall notice saying fuel tank has chance of fuel leak during rear end collision and chrysler would install a trailer hitch. They stated that the parts required for this program are currently not available and they would contact me by mail with a follow-up notice. It has been months and I have still not received any follow-up notice and would like to know the status of this recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10609286, filed 2014-07, 80,000 miles

“Have not been notified of any recalls and when I called the dealer they said I didnt have any recalls but when I check in the date base it said I had two recalls; I would like to get notified of the recalls by a dealership.”
