NHTSA complaint #11281179, filed 2019-11, 150,564 miles

“When I fill up my gas tank, there is always a moderate amount of gas that comes out and goes down the side of my car. This has occurred at multiple different stations with all octane levels of gas. It ejects about .1-.2 gallons of gas from the fuel entrance. This occurs right before the automatic shut-off closes on the fuel pump.”

NHTSA complaint #10703744, filed 2015-04, 112,200 miles

“While pumping gas, the pumped clicked (stopped) and gas spewed out the tank on vehicle, my hands, pants and shoes. This happened on more than one occasion. Today, 1-31-2015, gascap, indicator light came on. I tighten cap however, indicator light still on. Purchased a new gas cap but the new cap did not resolve the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10680239, filed 2015-01, 55,000 miles

“When pumping gas, the gas pump shuts off as expected however gasoline spews out of the Jeep's filling system. Tried different pumps same results, this occurs without topping off the tank . This I a serious safety hazard with gas spraying on my face, clothing and overflowing on my shoes, hands, vehicle and ground. I have been yelled at by gas station clerks because it is a safety hazard.”

NHTSA complaint #10678835, filed 2015-01, 80,000 miles

“Every single time I go to fill up the vehicle, it spews gas all over the place (the vehicle, me, ground) it doesn't matter how fast or slow you fill it up, it goes all over everything. Its dangerous and very irritating! I hate this vehicle very much, its an epic fail of a SUV! They drive awful and the transmission seems off all of the time!”
