“The problems started with the new battery going dead for no reason until I installed security cameras on our house and saw the head lights would randomly turn on and off running the battery dead when the car was parked in the driveway. Then the windshield wipers would come on and not turn off and sometimes the car wouldn't start and when it did on these events it would shake acting like it was running out of gas”

NHTSA complaint #11113452, filed 2018-07, 140,000 miles

“Various electrical systems would spontaneously turn on while driving or parked. My wipers (front and back) would turn on full speed, my horn would blast, lights would dim. Even when I turn the car off, these systems stay on. When I open the drivers door, the wipers would occasionally move 1-2 inches.”

NHTSA complaint #11005125, filed 2017-07, 40,000 miles

“I started my Jeep Liberty and the windshield wipers started going when the switch was in the off position. I turned on my headlights and they stopped. When I got home I took disconnected the neg wire on the battery to reset the computer in Jeep and I hooked it back up after 20 mins and where the mileage is shown it said error.”

NHTSA complaint #10721572, filed 2015-05, 62,000 miles

“When using my remote to unlock my 2008 Jeep Liberty, the horn starts honking, the windshield wipers (front and back) turn on, the windshield washers (front and back) shoot fluid, the door locks won't open and the headlights turn on and off. This has happened four times in the last two months. The headlights have also started turning off while driving and I'm unable to turn them back on.”

NHTSA complaint #10703784, filed 2015-04, 70,457 miles

“Windsheild wiper motor/washer motor doesn't work. There was a recall. But my Jeep Liberty VIN number wasn't included. It hasn't worked for a long time. I thought it was a leak in the hose. It's the motor, so I was told.”
