“Both of my rear window regulators broke while I was rolling down the windows after being in the sun all day. This is the 3rd Jeep Liberty that I have had that has had this problem. Jeep wants me to pay $300 to get these replaced. This is a known problem and Jeep refuses to take care of it. Locking my vehicle is pointless since the windows fall down.”

NHTSA complaint #10470712, filed 2012-08, 86,000 miles

“Car will not blow out cold air but works for a moment then just hot air. Thought it needed freon but I am being told new compressor is required $700.00. I spoke to another mechanic who thought the clutch part is the real issue. The car is garage kept and well maintained. Replacing clutch first. I have seen several similar complaints online too. Windows 3 of 4 have dropped.”

NHTSA complaint #10526039, filed 2013-07, 75,000 miles

“Right rear window fell down while car was parked. Because this happened the the left rear window in 2009, I immediately called chrysler customer service who instructed me to take it to the dealer for a diagnosis, which confirmed the regulator needed to be replaced. Once again this is a door that is seldom used and the window is almost never used.”

NHTSA complaint #10416599, filed 2011-08, 47,159 miles

“Window regulator broke costing me $210. Chrysler refused to reimburse me because my vehicle was made in december 2005 prior to the extension of the warranty for the same problem effective march 2006. Also, I am the third owner. This is a known factory defect and is not a wear issue or a maintenance problem. This should not happen period.”

NHTSA complaint #10432612, filed 2011-10, 62,200 miles

“My 2006 diesel Jeep Liberty crd 4x4 windows in the rear both stopped working. First one side quite rolling up and down and then on june 4th 2010 the left rear window wouldn't go up and made a loud roaring noise and clicking and my son got soaked from the rain and now it still won't roll up. Also, the esp and traction control light came on and is staying on.”
