“Every time a fill gas the car overfills and lots of gas spills out. This is happening at all different gas stations and I have seen others online with the same problem, my car has only 65k miles. This is for sure a safety issue that must be recalled, it is a huge fire hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11301661, filed 2020-01, 65,000 miles“Heard about the recall, asked chrysler after registering at their web site, was assured by their email, no problem, now don't know how long later I get a recall notice, also parts to fix not available yet. This whole thing was a farce, with chrysler dragging their feet, sold my Jeep a few months ago to carter subaru, seattle wa.”
NHTSA complaint #10561487, filed 2014-01, 58,835 miles“Gas tank overflows when fueling because it doesn't sense when its full. I have to stop fueling before I think its full so this doesn't happen, so I am unable to fill tank completely. Spills all over my clothes, on the ground and down the side of my vehicle. Also I smell an electrical burning smell when I'm driving my vehicle sometimes which is very scary.”
NHTSA complaint #10451864, filed 2012-03, 60,000 miles“Fuel spills every time we fill up. I took it to grapevine dodge and talked to a service adviser and she treated me and my daughter like we were stupid. Sorry, but I grew up working in a mobil service station and my chevy's don't overflow!!! So I left pissed off. It happens every fillup.”
NHTSA complaint #10781541, filed 2015-10, 1 miles“Car starts accepting gas then you can hear it gurgle back up while it shuts off the pump. It doesn't matter how far in or out the hose nozzle is either. It is taking forever to get gas into my car most of it ends up spilling out over the top of the gas door. This is utterly ridiculous and from the web I see I am not the first person dealing with this issues and of course paying for this problem out of my own pocket.”
